Goriška Local Energy Agency, Nova Gorica

GOLEA was established under the EU programme “Intelligent Energy Europe”, which promotes the creation of a network of local energy agencies across the European Union.
The mission of the GOLEA Agency is to promote the continuous improvement of energy efficiency and the accelerated introduction of the use of renewable energy sources with a view to achieving the energy independence of the regions.
Business partners are offered a quality supportive environment for raising energy efficiency and awareness. Through good cooperation with national energy institutions, it contributes to the development of strategies for integrated energy self-supply. As an Energy Agency of the Primorska region municipalities, it has developed into an indispensable institution in its environment.

By participating in the project, GOLEA continues its mission in promoting energy efficiency and introducing the use of renewable energy sources with a focus on achieving self-sufficiency in the regions. It has participated in numerous national and international projects in the field of energy rehabilitation of indoor and public lighting, energy rehabilitation of public facilities, introduction of energy management, installation of photovoltaic power plants etc. Three international projects are worth mentioning in the field of lighting. In the project RENEWABLE ENERGY SOURCES IN PRIMORSKA MUNICIPALITIES, it provided professional support for the renovation of indoor lighting in one school and two gymnasiums. Within the framework of the MARIE project, new financial mechanisms have been developed to carry out the renovation of public lighting within a public-private partnership. As an external contractor, GOLEA became involved in the FUTURELIGHTS project, where it participated in the preparation of guidelines for the implementation of public lighting renovation. GOLEA has the competencies to carry out professional studies, introduce energy management and prepare educational content. GOLEA will serve as a key partner in the field of expertise also in terms of consulting and transferring good practices to the other partners of the project.
